My girlfriend and I are looking for an apartment badly, but we keep coming across advertisements that are clear frauds. For instance: All capital descriptions with a ton of special characters, rent that seems too good to be true, stock images, repeated advertisements, etc.
There is an abundance of these advertisements on the rental market. Why haven't the fraudsters been apprehended in large numbers? Given how long this has been going on, one would think that the authorities would have figured out a means to find them by now. I assume that either the authorities are indifferent to the matter or the administrators/moderators of the websites they link to are too busy to properly screen their sponsors, but is there more to it than that?
